Argentina Missionaries - Ernie & Carol Mason

Ernie & Carol Mason – Cordoba, Argentina

What started these two special people on a mission for God?  They both say  ”growing up in a Christian home”!

Ernie accepted the Lord with his father as a child, and Carol as a teen. They feel that the Lord was preparing them both all along the way, by giving them contact with both the Spanish language and the country of Argentina.

God saw fit to bring them together when they served for two years in short term missions programs.  Carol is trained as a teacher, and loves music. Ernie is trained both as an electrical engineer and a Pastor.

Ernie attended Seminary starting a year after their marriage.  Their desire was to serve again in a Spanish speaking country, but did not know which one.

They were accepted by Baptist Mid-Missions in 1990. After attending a School of Church Planting there, they saw the need for them to go to Argentina where they were able to plant “Iglesia Bautista Vida Abundante“, which translated into English means “Abundant Life Baptist Church”.

They arrived in Argentina in 1996 with their two boys, Eric (13 yr) and John (11 yr),  ready for a church planting ministry.

According to their website, their ministry goal is to evangelize and disciple; leading people to Christ, helping them grow, and building leaders.  They use personal Bible studies which help to clarify religious confusion by leading them directly to God’s Word.

Their ministries through the years have included Children’s Bible Clubs, Children’s Day Outreach each August, Youth meetings and outings, fun activities, workshops, sign language for the deaf, music classes, men’s and women’s meetings, a church library, Bilingual programs, distributing tracts and Bible lessons, celebrations – they use whatever will bring people in touch with God’s Word, and they respond!
